Syamaprasad’s latest feature `Rithu’ will be part of the competition section of the 54th Valladolid International Film Festival which began on October 23. `Rithu’ is the only Indian film invited to the festival.Syamaprasad will also speak at the convention on Indian and Spanish Cinema which will be held as part of the festival.
The festival will conclude on October 31.
Valladolid, one of Europe’s oldest festivals, is known for its innovation in programming.
The festival is considered to be the testing ground for films which had been banned.
For instance, Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece ‘Clockwork Orange’ was premiered at the festival in 1975.
