Kerala_University_distributes_hall_ticket_onlineTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM: For the first time in the state, a university has put in place a system for online distribution of hall tickets. The hall tickets of those examinations of the Kerala University with the governing part computerised will be provided online.

In the first stage, hall tickets of all BTech and post-graduate (semester system) examinations will be made available online with the help of the System for Web Enabled Examination Transaction (SWEET) software developed by the Kerala University Computer Centre.

Centre director V.Ajayakumar told that the model used for the online distribution of hall tickets was similar to that of e-commerce websites. Students or those at the University Computer Centre can type in their own details. The college authorities can generate their own hall tickets using these details, he said.

The online distribution of the hall tickets will be implemented from the eighth semester BTech examinations beginning on November 25. College principals can download hall tickets of eighth semester BTech examinations from the website www.kucc.keralauniversity.edu beginning Wednesday. These hall tickets can be distributed to students. The college which are unable to download the hall tickets should report it to the University.

Kerala University Computer centre had already modified its portal for facilitating online registration to University examinations.

Around 50,000 passwords had already been issued. The following categories can use the system now.

Students can enter their date of birth in dd/mm/yyyy format (10 characters) in the password column and enter the site. Candidates who enter the site using their date of birth should set their own password and confirm the password immediately after entry with date of birth as password is granted.

Students can access the site for three purposes; for getting individual results, for individual registration and for obtaining transcripts. College authorities can use the site for two purposes; for getting batch-wise results and for registering a batch of students.
Teachers can use the site to enter attendance data and mark details. Internal assessment marks and attendance details are now sent to the University by post or through a messenger.

University staff can use the site for entering data generated at centralised valuation camps. This will further minimise the time needed for publication of results.
Recruiting agencies are also given passwords to enter the site and verify the genuineness of degrees submitted by job applicants.

The software for providing the above facilities has been designed and developed by the University Computer Centre itself.
