Few kilometers from Ottapalam is AnanganAdi (the base or Adivaram of Ananganmala a natural hill at ANANGANADI village). Here we visited Ramya's parents and grand parents. By the way Ramya is my aliyan's wife. I am sure she must be missing her place. She lives with her in-laws at Annanagar near Anna arch of Chennai city.

The view from the muttam and the room I was give was beautiful. Ananganmala, the mountain stood tall and wide blocking any view to the horizon. Just as mentioned by
Janesh. I could see Green paddy fields all the way to the mountain base.

Legend has it that Ananganmala was a piece of rock that fell off the Sanjeevi mala. Sanjeevi mala is he mountain that Hanuman was carrying from the Himalayas to Lanka to treat Lakshmanan from he orders of Shree Raman. I read in
Janesh's blog "the wells on top of the mountain are always overflowing - so the streams of water flowing down from the top of the mountain all the way along its height to the adivaram didn't tickle my curiosity."... mmm tickles my curiosity too.

Next time I visit Ramya's place I am sure I am going to top of this hill and take some pictures.

By the way Janesh blog is worth the read you may visit his write-up on Ananganmala at http://janesh.in/home/?p=49

This is a snap I clicked from Ramya's terrace during my October 2007 visit.

The latest news I bring from Palakkad district this time of my travel is that Ananganmala is being transformed to be a tourist friendly place and to be promoted by government of kerala.

Its going to be the smallest but the best hill station in South-India if its promted well by Kerala Tourism Department

Ananganmala mountain is about 500 acres and is a rare store house of  precious and exceptional herbs.

The demand has been existing from the time past.

Anganmala has now hosted shootings of many films.

Top of the mountain provided a panoramic view of about 50 km
