Confident Group's ASIANET Idea Star Singer 2008

I guess it is starting all over again. But with some changes in personnel.

I am a little unsettled by the change in personnel - actually I liked Ranjini and the previous group - they had all become part of the family with their habits and talking style and the nine yards - but I guess as in all situations - change is the only constant.

As for the singers - based on what I saw - I think the kids are getting stronger and they seem more ready than the kids of last year. I guess the overall standard of the singers is getting better and better - maybe my own singing and understanding of songs is getting better.

But - I guess this is going to be a long distance race - the good starters might not have endurance . I guess we are going to see the upbringing , patience and the character of these people before this is over.

Let the race begin - and my best wishes to all the people involved in this great IDEA !!!!

Hello Agni - you are right. I am sure I will get used to the new faces and people.

Interestingly my parents and many people I know have no problems - they are all watching and enjoying themselves very much.

I am sure I will enjoy it as the things get smoother -

I guess now there is a bit of excitement when I go home - other than Sophie and her nightmare friend from hell -

Did you notice the Girl in Kuttichatten yesterday - I think she is Amrutha's sister who was good at mimikry in the last season.

Interesting developments in a wonderful world !!!!

I heard a few of the new and aspiring singers who turned up for the great IDEA.

I think most of this year's candidates are pretty much a polished and challenging bunch - from from the group that I have seen thus far - though they are definately singers - they do not have much of the " personality " like Sanni. I think the same might hold for pretty much the judges and the host - this new commentator is not in the Ranjini class - she seems to be some kind of music expert herself - as opposed to Ranjini who was a simple person much like me and majority of the viewers.

Anyway - I guess the characters might come out after this first round and the selection process is complete -

I also see the judges are more reserved in their comments - one of the judges look like a small boy - not in the Sarath class - but I guess this is a good opportunity to meet the key people in the music industry - I guess Didi and Sarath are not the length and bredth of the music industry in Kerala.

All in all - a slow start - I hope this keeps holding the people's attention - I am decided on watching and having fun !!!

I watched the show yesterday - I found some of the ladies who performed yesterday not all that good - but interestingly they got through.

The guys seem to be much more polished.

Vani - I think that is the judge who sings - her comments are pretty short and too general - I thought we should get a lady judge who is in the Didi class - I wonder if there are any good lady singers who can talk well !!!

Other than that - the great IDEA moves on !!!

After being so loyal to Asianet by watching Idea Star Singer 2007 and becoming used to watching Ranjini as the anchor along with the terrific trio: MG Sreekumar, Sharreth and Didi, it was difficult to accept the change but eventually I overcame that.
