Gorintakau is an upcoming Telugu movie by Actor Rajasekhar.

Meera Jasmine along with Aarti Agarwal is playing the lead in the film being directed by VR Pratap.
Produced by NV Prasad, Paras Jain and RB Chowdary, the film is a family entertainer.

Also to note, Gorintaku is a remake of the Kannada blockbuster, Anna Tangi.
SA Rajkumar is composing the music for the film.

"AMMA has put a ban on her working in Malayalam movies. According to insiders, Meera was approached to play a part in the mega production Twenty:20, featuring all of Malluwood’s major stars, who are acting for free. The Malayalam film association, AMMA is producing Twenty:20, whose proceeds will go for the Association welfare funds.

By refusing to act in Twenty:20 (as her dates clashed with her Telugu movie’s dates), Meera Jasmine ruffled quite a feathers. The result is that she has been banned from acting in any Malayalam movies until AMMA lifts the ban.

It remains to be seen how Meera’s fortunes will fare as she doesn’t usually do many Malayalam movies and her star is waning in Kollywood too."

Meera Jasmine and her Malayalm movie career

Meera made her debut in the Malayalam film Soothradharan in 2001 directed by Lohithadas opposite Dileep. Though the film flopped, she received offers from other languages. She has starred in a dozen Malayalam films in her six-year career. Her second film was directed by ace director Kamal, alongside Navya Nair, opposite Dileep. Her role as a Jewish girl was appreciated by Malayalam cine goers. Her third movie was a romantic comedy along side Prithviraj, Kunchako Boban, Jayasurya, and Bhavana under directorKamal. Her performance was appreciated and the movie was success at the box office. among the five main characters, one who scored the most was again Meera.

She got real attention in Malayalam cinema with the movie Kasthoorimann directed by her mentor Lohithadas. She was able to enact both comedy and sentimental scenes with equal fervor. She recived her first film fare award for her performance in Kasthoorimann. The film was also a success in box office running for 100 days. The same year, she acted in T V Chandran's much acclaimed Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam. She played a 15-year-old Muslim girl who was forced to marry an older man. She not only recived state award, but also National Award for Best actress and many other awards beating many strong contenders like Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen. Then came another soul-stirring performance as Raziya in Perumazhakkalam alongside Kavya Madhavan. In the movie 'Achuvinte Amma'(2005), she has enacted the young, adorable character Achu, with extraordinary ease that she seemed to live the character, instead of acting. She paired with Malayalam superstars-Mohanlal in 'Rasathantram' (2006) and recently with Mammootty in 'Ore Kadal' (2007). She won her second state award for Ore Kadal

She has been rated as one of the most highly talented heroines in the south and though her personal front has been quite shaky, that has not deterred her from the focus on acting and today she has many awards including the National award in her kitty for coming out with some memorable performances.We are talking about the cute girl from Malayalam Meera Jasmine who has become more of a household name in Telugu after the super success of her last release ‘Gorintaku’. However, it is now being said that that Meera has got just one movie to do and she has been turning down offers.

Apparently, the pretty girl is now said to be suffering from Thyroid problems due to which she has been putting on a lot of weight. So Meera has decided to tackle this problem first and then she would be coming back with her second spree of sorts.
