Padmapriya was slapped by the Tamil Director Samy.

Samy is director of the controversial movie 'Uyir'.

'Uyir' was in debate for along time because of a 'sister-in-law' character in the movie.

Despite the negative comments in the media and all debates the movie made success at the box office.

When everyone thought no female actor would dare to go into his next venture 'Mirugam', our good old Padmapriya walked boldly into it.

Padmapriya and Samy were loggerheads from the beginning of this movie shooting.

Padmapriya reportedly had extended her call sheet for this movie beyond what she thought was 'acceptable'

On the final day shooting at Madurai, Swamy seemed to have held her up for some extra hours.

She was to catch a flight to Mumbai for her next day shoot.

Samy was mumbling over her performance the previous day.

Padmapriya reacted saying he must have told her about it and she could have done it again.

Samy wanted some close-up shots of her and while doing this he slapped her in front of the entire unit, and then asked her to leave.

Padmapriya cried in humiliation and left the spot after the shoot, only to make a complaint to the Actors Association and Producers Association.

Producers association has banned the new director in his very second film

Samy now seems to be claiming that he did it to make her emote for the scene.

Also claims she successfully finished the scene in one single take.

Will Padmapriya and Samy co-operate in releasing "Mirugam” is to be waited and watched

Padmapriya is slowly but surely becoming an actress of substance in Mollywood. In fact she is the only heroine who had the honor of being directed by top trio of directors of Malayalam cinema.

She is now working in award winning director T.V Chandran’s Bhoomimalayalam Priya becomes the only heroine ever to have worked with world renowned directors like Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Shaji N.Karun, Hariharan and now T.V Chandran.

Recently for her Hariharan directed Pazhassi Raja the actress went ahead and did a risky stunt including jumping from a tall tree without using a dupe. The shoot was held at Thalakonam near Tirupati and she sustained some minor injuries, but she continued with her shoot!

Padmapriya who sprang to the national news for tonsuring her head for a future film is a happy and delighted girl these days. Her next film titled ‘Prazhassi Raja’ which has Mammotty; Manoj K Jayan in the lead is taking its shape well. Some sources also reveal that the ace director Hari Haran is leaving no stone unturned in order to make the film a sure blockbuster.

The films; script is about a great rule who was termed as a Hitler of Kerala and who ruled for almost 20 years. The British rule and the revolt of Prazhassi raja is going to be featured in this film. Illayaraja is scoring music to this film and the shooting may end up in a couple of months.

Padmapriya is happy to be a part of the magnum opus and feels that she will get a chance to expose her acting skills in front of her fans. Padmapriya will feature in a scene which will feature a Britisher trying to molest her modesty and the scene will feature the beauty’s curves and shapes embedded in the top and back of the pretty lady

She is pretty and very talented as well, so I am sure she'll do very well in Bollywood also.
There are so many actresses in Bollywood who donot have even half her talent !
I'll look forward to this movie, ... My best wishes for her.

Padmapriya is flying with joy, literally, as her recently-released Malayalam film ‘Pazhassi Raja’ has made it big. Also her performance as Neeli, a tribal guerilla warrior, has won her rave reviews. She is now eagerly waiting to repeat the magic in the Tamil version of the movie.

“It was entirely a different role for me. Neeli is a bold character. A real tribal woman. It was physically-challenging for me. I learnt Kalari from Sathyam master in Trivandrum. I had learnt lessons about four months from him. Since I was a dancer, I liked learning Kalari and involved a lot with it,” she says.

“It was Hollywood actress Uma Thurman's character in the film ‘Kill Bill’ that helped me to prepare for the role in ‘Pazhassi Raja’, Padmapriya says and adds: “Director Hariharan encouraged me a lot. Working with veteran like them made my task easier.”

Do you think that home works are important for an actress? To this question, the actress replies: “Yes indeed. We have to do home works. I come from theatre. It gave me the necessity courage to do such a difficult role. I am a keen observer of life. I feel that helped me a lot while acting.”
